Saecula

The map remembers a thousand years.

Saecula is a grand strategy and city-building game that runs from the year 1000 to 2000. Think Victoria meets Anno meets the colonisation half of Europa Universalis, played on a map that physically changes over a thousand years.

Growth, war, famine and plague leave visible marks. A razed city stays a ruin until someone rebuilds it, and war spends a generation that still shows in the population decades later. Goods travel along real roads, rivers and sea lanes, so you can blockade a road or reroute trade to your own city.

The first playable version covers the century from 1000 to 1100: the end of the Viking age, the Norman conquest, Byzantium at its peak, and the First Crusade as its climax. Later versions add a century at a time.

SAECULA.exeFeatures
