1.1.0 goes to Google Play, and 2.3 heads out on the town

Megacity 1.1.0 has been uploaded to Google Play. It brings the story system, the Settings screen, sick days and fully offline music, and saves from the current version carry over when you update.

Work on 2.3 also had its biggest day yet. Your home is now yours to furnish, with a catalogue of 167 pieces to buy, place and turn, shelves and pictures on the walls, textured floors, and a cosy home that lifts the family's mood. Cars got new art that picks up grime, rust and dents as they wear, plus six new models, from the tiny Bubble to the Stretch Meridian limousine.

After dark there are illegal street races under Neon Vein, a legal track called the Ringway for those who win enough, and fights in the Pit where you can bet on yourself. Both use a real-time timing game, so your hands matter as much as your car or your fitness.

  • Hobby corners at home: a workbench, an easel, a guitar, a weight bench and a grow rack
  • Visitors knocking at your door, one or two a week
  • A redone phone with a news wire and investing: shares, bonds and an underground scrip
  • A morality meter from Saint to Monster, and the Verge, a hidden settlement for those who work off the books
  • People remember your conversations and bring them up next time
